The Genoese art of scent
Created in Genoa, made in Italy
Everything begins with a memory. A scent in the air, a moment in Genoa that wishes to become a fragrance.
From there begins a process of interpretation and precision. Two and a half years of research, development, and collaboration with the perfumers at GRC, a distinguished Italian laboratory, B Corp certified. Formula after formula, each composition is refined until it finds its balance: sophisticated yet immediate, long-lasting yet never overpowering. A fragrance that accompanies the skin without overwhelming it.
The same care extends to every element of MarMar. Our supply chain is entirely Italian, from formulation to assembly, from glass to Fedrigoni paper. The only exception is our porcelain stoneware caps, handcrafted in a small workshop in Galicia. Porous and tactile, they absorb the fragrance and preserve its memory over time. The embossed wind rose on their surface is the symbol of the maison, echoing the silhouette of the Ligurian hills descending into the sea.
Color, too, is the result of patient research. A year spent studying Genoese façades, Ligurian flora, and the light that moves across the city. Every shade was developed to live consistently across paper, aluminium, and porcelain stoneware. In Genoa, color is not just decoration; it tells a story. The same is true for MarMar.
Behind every detail lies a hand, a choice, an intention. Craftsmanship is the language through which MarMar takes shape.

Snapshots of Genoa
There is a Genoese way of making perfume: evocative, maritime, emotional. MarMar fragrances are its most direct expression: moments of this city captured in the air and transcribed into scent. A dawn of sea salt, the heat of the vicoli at night, coffee by the sea in the morning, a rooftop garden blazing under the midday sun.
Our olfactory signature carries the sea with it. Not in the obvious sense of a marine fragrance, but in something more subtle: a freshness that rises, opens, and persists over time without ever becoming heavy. A tenacious verticality, like the wind of Genoa, carrying layers of overlapping scents and releasing them slowly on the skin.
Our first collection is composed of Eau de Parfum with concentrations of vegetable-origin alcohol above 20%. A deliberate choice, guaranteeing a tenacity unique in its freshness: perfumes that stay without imposing, that evolve on the skin throughout the day.
Every formula is the result of months of research: quality ingredients sourced from around the world, selected and composed to create original, unexpected accords. Sophisticated and harmonious fragrances, all unisex, for those who want to carry a piece of the sea with them.
Like the wind rose that is our symbol, we explore every olfactory direction — from floral to woody, from marine to oriental — building over time a palette of uniquely Genoese moments. A Genoese, poetic and contemporary vision of haute parfumerie, that grows fragrance by fragrance.
